IDEA Cafe: Diversifying Boards

For public gardens serious about diversifying their organizations and becoming places of belonging for all, board diversification is a key step in transitioning from being places of exclusivity to inclusivity. In this Café, join our panel of executive directors and board members from Filoli Historic House & Garden, New England Botanic Garden at Towerhill and Denver Botanic Garden for a thoughtful discussion about approaching and prioritizing board diversification, identifying and navigating barriers to allow diversification to happen, and identifying and supporting new board members without tokenization. Additionally, panelists will discuss the meaningful changes they have experienced as a result of their shift and how they continue to evolve as an organization.
