IDEA Cafe: Getting Started With IDEA
This past year exposed long-unaddressed structural inequities, but even before that many public garden leaders were asking themselves how to engage inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) within their own gardens and surrounding communities. Do you start by implementing internal IDEA workshops or by figuring out how to attract more diverse employees? Are you even qualified to begin this process?? As far as first steps go, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. A lot depends on the culture you already have and your current employee makeup. It also depends on taking a hard look at where you are and where you want to be. This month’s IDEA Café will feature a group of panelists who will share their insights into how to embark on this journey.
